Driver's ed in Maine

How to take a driver's ed course in Maine

At the age of 14 it's common to get an instruction's permit with your parent or guardians permission.

Go to any local Driver's license place and make sure to bring proper identification and proof of your social security number.

You must pass a vision and written test before you can get your instruction permit.

The written test will be based on traffic signs, rules of the road, safe driving procedures, and Iowa's motor vehicle laws. The best way to prepare for the knowledge test is to study the Iowa driver's manual.

In most cases, the driver's ed in Iowa includes 30 hours of classroom instruction and six hours of lab time. At least three of the lab hours must be behind the wheel of a car and the other three may be either behind the wheel or using a simulator.

The cost for driver education will vary.
