Michigan ID Cards
To show proof of your identity with a photo, the simplest thing to do is get a state ID card or a driver's license. A driver's license is not always an option for some people, so an ID card will be the next best thing. Michigan ID cards are relatively easy to get since they do not have any extreme policies. Read below to learn more about how to get a Michigan ID card:
- Visit your local Secretary of State Office
- Show proof of a Social Security Number
- Show proof of residency
- Show proof of identity
- $10 fee for a standard ID, $30 for an enhanced ID and if you are over 65, there is no charge for a standard ID and a $20 fee for an enhanced ID
Renewing your Michigan ID card is very simple, and can often be done online, unless you have an enhanced ID card. You can also apply in-person or by mail. You can renew your Michigan ID card up to six months before it is set to expire.
