South Carolina ID Cards

If you do not drive but want or need a form of identification, you must visit your local DMV, pay a fee of $5 if you are younger than 17, and provide proof of your identity, your social security number and proof of residency. You will have to renew your ID card every five years. Renewal can be done in person or online.

If you need to replace your ID card because it has been lost, stolen, or damaged, you will need to visit your local DMV office, pay a $5 fee if you are younger than 17, and show your social security card.
